A record breaking 500, 000 viewers tuned in to watch Drake play Fortnite on Twitch last week.
The rapper revealed on his Twitter account that he is playing Fortnite with pro-gamer, Ninja.
The pair were eventually joined by NFL player JuJu Smith-Schuster and rapper Travis Scott.
Those who tuned in learned that Drake has only been playing the game for about a month or two and that he and his crew sometimes use it to relax during long hours in the studio.
Fortnite is a free-to-play video game where characters fight and build defenses to survive and it the latest phenomenon to sweep the web.
The game started on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Mac, and has recently launched on the iPhone. Moving to capture mobile fans of the game is a big development for Fortnite developers.
The good news is that mobile game spending is 2.3 times higher than PC and Mac gaming, and 3.6 times higher than game consoles, according to report from App Annie and ICD.
Cross play has also contributed to the success of Fortnite. This means players across devices can squad up with friends and play together.
