According to gameplay reports , Alien: Isolationis mainly focuses on stealth mechanics and unlike most video game adaptations of AlienfranchiseAlien: Isolation features several aliens throughout its duration, requiring the player to remain unnoticed in order to survive the hunt. That doesn’t mean without shooting you will encounter humans and androids for FPS but it won’t consume the gameplay. In fact, increasing your lights or sounds will make things easier to find.
All that said, the most interesting aspect of the game is Aliens and that’s it. AI, and how it will track our protagonist. Both you and the Aliens will have ways to hinder each other through the non-linear level (supposedly with multiple entry and exit points) but the developer’s goal is to make you feel like the AI is watching you, learn from you and play with you. If that’s not amazing enough, you won’t be able to track the specific location of the Aliens and no information at all if the Aliens don’t move.
Adding to the roleplay, the game will there is no HUD on the screen to force you to limit your attention when using items in the inventory to gather information. The developers even went so far as to introduce a depth of field effect that makes it impossible to see where the Aliens are and what is in front of you at the same time. Self defence. Items used for crafting appear in random locations throughout the levels, forcing the player to explore to find them on each level instead of memorizing their locations.
