Streaming giant Netflix may expand further into the game industry. According to The Information, Netflix is asking “Veteran executives in multiple gaming industries” to enter the gaming business. Also, a bundled service for games like Apple’s Apple Arcade may also be in the works. It’s a system where you can play as much as you want for a monthly fee.
This isn’t the first time Netflix has been involved with games, and in the past they’ve worked with third parties to develop games related to the drama Stranger Things.
Netflix has a great influence on video distribution services, but recently the number of new subscribers has been sluggish due to fierce competition. Meanwhile, it may be natural for Netflix to pay attention to another huge content “game” that can be enjoyed at home.
