Last week Google announced their new streaming service trying to be “the Netflix of gaming”. Today Apple responds, announcing Arcade, a game subscription service for iOS, Mac and Apple TV.
CEO Tim Cook kicked off the Apple Event 2019 hosted at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, at 10.30pm IST on March 25, 2019. Cook introduced a new range of services, confirming that hardware is not going to be the focus of this event.
During its show, Apple announced its credit card with no late fees ‘Apple Card’, a video streaming service ‘Apple TV Plus’, and a video game subscription service ‘Apple Arcade’ .
The new Apple Arcade service will allow players to stream games on their Apple device for a subscription fee.
It is a Cross Platform service, which means you can play games on devices such as mobile, laptops and PCs. They are also bringing a gaming platform for all their platforms (Mac, iPhone, iPad & ATV) where you can start play on one device and continue on another. Without commercials. And just the need of one account for the whole family!
Even if you are not a fan of Apple, but on paper the Apple Arcade looks pretty good.

Apple claim Arcade is the world’s first game subscription service for mobile, desktop and the living room. Over 100 new and exclusive games, including original releases. App Store’s more than 1 billion gaming customers. Its hard to argue with those stats.
