Orange Botswana and Barclays announced their Bank 2 Wallet service that offers customers to access their Barclays bank accounts in connection with their Orange Money account.
The service enables customers to transfer funds directly from their account to their Orange Money Wallet and vice versa.
The initiative is part of the #GoCashless economy which has seen a dramatic increase in recent years as one-click payments are becoming a favorite among consumers.
The electronic wallet, or mobile money, store your funds and enables unforgeable transactions with other wallets. It is safer than cash money since only the legitimate owner who knows the password can operate it.
Orange has its own mobile money called Orange Money and it has partnered with Barclays to offer customers a convenient method of topping up their digital wallet.
It can replace cash, credit-cards, checks and traveler’s checks and saves the long queues involved in their use. It provides remote transactions which are verified with a password as a security measure.
